ENJOY

In this paper I will present my thoughts and the thoughts of others on learning how to enjoy life (Please note that many related papers in my website, www.davidhakim.com, such as “Enthusiasm” and “Fairness,” also address this topic).

The primary purpose of this paper is to strengthen my relationship with God, to have fewer moments where, because of pain or stress, I have doubts about my relationship with Him.

To achieve this goal and make my life more successful, I must open my soul to my true feelings:  the good, kind and loving feelings which a loved and cherished child so easily displays.  It would also be helpful to tune into such a child’s wonder about the universe around him.

After tuning into my feelings, I will then be in a better position to think about executing my endeavors and finally act in accordance with my best interest after checking with guidance.

To learn to be more faithful to myself, and able to exhibit greater love toward others, I also must keep before me the words of Shakespeare:  “To thine own self be true….”

To begin, I repeat the technique called “spiritual cleansing” (also mentioned in “Action” on my website) which assists me in maintaining a positive attitude and/or eliminating a negative one (I credit and thank the Americana Leadership College (www.alcworld.com) for this technique):

Think of a pleasant thought:  a place of happiness or something you enjoy doing.   Some meditate or pray briefly.  Then charge your hands by rubbing them together about three seconds.    Then rub your third eye area in the middle of your forehead with the fingertips of your predominant hand for three seconds and bring your hands together and down the side of your face.  Shake your hands one time strongly to recharge your energy.  Again place your fingertips on your third eye area to the top and down the back of your head, around your neck and together in front of your throat.  Repeat several times.  You may get chills from your spiritual guides or just feel better.

I get more satisfaction if I am actually touching my body when I am cleansing.

Until the technique is accepted universally, it is recommended that you cleanse in private or in a group.  Or you can teach yourself to cleanse spiritually without any hand movements.

A good friend emailed me Saint Theresa’s prayer.  Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways, meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love. She is also the patron Saint of flower growers and florists.  Her prayer is:

”May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.  May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.  May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.  It is there for each and every one of us.”

Also, I have located a wonderful website which demonstrates the presence of God through nature:  http://www.pennyparker2.com/nature.html (see also the rest of her magnificent website, www.pennyparker2.com).  One of Penny Parker’s choices for enjoying the beauty of nature is “Oh Such Visions” by Virginia Ellis.  The last verse of her poem is as follows:

Around the world around the heavens,
As often as I wish I go,
I choose my time, my destination.
Will I return?  That’s mine to know.

To really get my feelings aligned with spirit, I sing to myself the following:

Lord, You Have Come to the Lakeshore

Lord, you have come to the lakeshore
Looking neither for wealthy or wise ones;
You only asked me to follow humbly.

Refrain:

O Lord, with your eyes you have searched me,
And while smiling have spoken my name;
Now my boat’s left on the shoreline behind me;
By your side I will seek other seas.

You know so well my possessions;
My boat carries no gold and no weapons;
You will find there my nets and labor.

You need my hands, full of caring
Through my labors, to give others rest,
And constant love that keeps on loving.

You, who have fished other oceans,
Ever longed for by souls who are waiting,
My loving friend, as thus You call me.

For a harmonious life, I must more thoroughly learn to feel, think, then act, or first plan with the assistance of guidance, decide the order of my actions, and then labor to accomplish my goals.

To illustrate the possibilities that lie with positive thinking, the following is a summary of what to me are the significant parts of  “One Hundred Quotes from the Secret,” which is virtually a transcript of “The Secret” (the One Hundred Quotes are mentioned verbatim in “The Secret” on my website):

We all work with one infinite power.  The Secret is the Law of Attraction (LOA).
Whatever is going on in your mind is what you are attracting.   We are like magnets - like attract like. You become and attract what you think.

Every thought has a frequency. Thoughts send out a magnetic energy.  People think about what they don't desire and attract more of the same.

You attract your dominant thoughts.  Those who speak most of illness have illness, those who speak most of prosperity have it, and so forth.  It's not "wishful" thinking.  You can't have a universe without the mind entering into it.
Choose your thoughts carefully; you are a masterpiece of your life.

It's OK that thoughts don't manifest into reality immediately (if we saw a picture of an elephant and it instantly appeared, that would be too soon).

EVERYTHING in your life you have attracted—accept that fact—it's true.  Your thoughts cause your feelings.  We don't need to complicate all the "reasons" behind our emotions. It's much simpler than that. There are two categories—good feelings and bad feelings.  Thoughts that bring about good feelings mean you are on the right track. Thoughts that bring about bad feelings means you are not on the right track.  Whatever it is you are feeling is a perfect reflection of what is in the process of becoming.

You get exactly what you are feeling.  Happy feelings will attract more happy circumstances.  You can begin feeling whatever you desire (even if it's not there)—the
universe will correspond to the nature of your song.  What you focus on with your thought and feeling is what you attract into your experience.

What you think and what you feel and what actually manifests is ALWAYS a match – no exception.

"You create your own universe as you go along" Winston Churchill.

It's important to feel good ( ( ( (((good))) ) ) ).  You can change your emotion immediately—by thinking of something joyful, or singing a song, or remembering a happy experience.

When you get the hang of this, before you know it you will KNOW you are the creator.  Life can and should be phenomenal—and it will be when you consciously apply the Law of Attraction.  The universe will re-arrange itself accordingly.

Start by using this sentence for all of your desires: "I'm so happy and grateful now that…."  You don't need to know HOW the universe is going to rearrange itself.  The LOA is simply figuring out for yourself what will generate the positive feelings of having it NOW.

You might get an inspired thought or idea to help you move towards what you desire faster.  The universe likes SPEED. Don't delay, don't second-guess, don't doubt.

When the opportunity or impulse is there—ACT.  You will attract everything you require - money, people, connections—PAY ATTENTION to what's being set in front of you.

You can start with nothing—and out of nothing or no way, a way will be provided.

HOW LONG???  No rules on time—the more aligned you are with positive feelings the quicker things happen.

Size is nothing to the universe (unlimited abundance if that's what you wish). We make the rules on size and time.  There are no rules according to the universe—you provide the feelings of having it now and the universe will respond.

"All that we are is a result of what we have thought" - Buddha

What can you do right now to turn your life around??  Gratitude.  Gratitude will bring more into our lives immediately.  What we think about and thank about is what we bring about.

What are the things you are grateful for??   Feel the gratitude—focus on what you have right now that you are grateful for.  Play the picture in your mind - focus on the end result.

VISUALIZE!!! Rehearse your future.  See it, feel it! This is where action begins.

Feel the joy—feel the happiness!

An affirmative thought is 100 times more powerful than a negative one.

"What this power is, I cannot say. All I know is that it exists."  Alexander Graham Bell.

Our job is not to worry about the "How."  The "How" will show up out of the commitment and belief in the "what."  The ‘How’s are the domain of the universe.  It always knows the quickest, fastest, most harmonious way between you and your dream.
If you turn it over to the universe, you will be surprised and dazzled by what is delivered—this is where magic and miracles happen.

Turn it over to the universe daily—but it should never be a chore.

Feel exhilarated by the whole process—high, happy, in tune.  The only difference between people who are really living this way is they have habituated ways of being.
They remember to do it all the time.

Create a Vision Board—pictures of what you desire to attract—every day
look at it and get into the feeling state of already having acquired these
desires.

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."  Albert Einstein.

Decide what you desire—believe you can have it, believe you deserve it, believe it's possible for you.  Close your eyes and visualize having what you already desire - and the
feeling of having it already.

Focus on being grateful for what you have already—enjoy it!!  Then release into the universe. The universe will manifest it.

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive, it can achieve."  W. Clement Stone.

Set a goal so big that if you achieved it, it would blow your mind.

When you have an inspired thought, you must trust it and act on it.

How can you become more prosperous?? INTEND IT!!  "Checks are coming in the mail regularly," or change your bank statement to whatever balance you desire, and get behind the feeling of having it.

Life is meant to be abundant in ALL areas.  Go for the sense of inner joy and peace then all outside things appear.

We are the creators of our universe.

Relationships: Treat yourself the way you desire to be treated by others—love yourself and you will be loved.  Have a healthy respect for yourself.

For those you work with or interact with regularly—get a notebook and write down positive aspects of each of those people. Write down the things you like most about them (don't expect change from them). The law of attraction will not put you in the same space together if your frequencies don't match.

When you realize your potential to feel good, you will ask no one to be different in order for you to feel good. You will free yourself from the cumbersome impossibilities of needing to control the world, your friends, your mate, your children.  You are the only one that creates your reality.  No one else can think or feel for you—its YOU—ONLY YOU.

Health: thank the universe for your own healing.  Laugher, stress free happiness, will keep you healthy.  The immune system will heal itself.

Parts of our bodies are replaced every day, every week, etc. Within a few years we have a brand new body.  See yourself living in a new body. Hopeful = recovery.  Happy = happier biochemistry.

Stress degrades the body.  Remove stress from the body and the body regenerates itself. You can heal yourself.

Learn to become still—and take your attention away from what you don't desire, and place your attention on what you wish to experience.  When the voice and vision on the inside become more profound and clear than the opinions on the outside, then you have mastered your life.

You are not here to try to get the world to be just as you desire it.  You are here to create the world around you that you choose and allow the world as others choose to see it, to exist as well.

People think that if everyone knows the power of the LOA there won't be enough to go around. This is a lie that's been ingrained in us and makes so many greedy.  The truth is there is more than enough love, creative ideas, power, joy and happiness to go around.

All of this abundance begins to shine through a mind that is aware of its own infinite nature. There's enough for everyone.  See it. Believe it.  It will show up for you.  So let the variety of your reality thrill you as you choose all the things you desire and get behind the good feelings of all your desires.

Write your script. When you see things you don't desire, don't think about them, write about them, talk about them, push against them or join groups that focus on them—remove your attention from ‘don't desires’… and instead place your attention on ‘do desires’.

We are mass energy. Everything is energy:  EVERYTHING!!!  Don't define yourself by your body......it's the infinite being that's connected to everything in the universe.  There is one energy field. Our bodies have distracted us from our energy. We are the infinite field of unfolding possibilities—The creative force.

Are your thoughts worthy of you?  If not - NOW is the time to change them. You can begin right where you are right now. Nothing matters but this moment and what you are focusing your attention on

As of this moment, you can link onto the following URL and view the movie, “The Secret” (if you cannot, use your search engine and buy a copy or view it at a presentation of it, which I am led to believe is happening frequently now):  http://www.thescienceofgettingrich.biz

No doubt some of you will find the above a powerful expansion of:

The Jabez Prayer

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
“Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
            And enlarge my territory,
That your hand would be with me,
And that you would keep me from evil,
That I may not cause pain!”
So God granted him what he requested.

                                                 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV)

Francisco Coll, founder of the Americana Leadership College (www.alcworld.com) said all of the above simply:  “We are what we think, not what we think we are.”  The college has powerful courses that focus on our attitude.

If you are having a frustrating day and everything seems to go wrong and you have not noticed the following website previously mentioned in my link the “Secret,” take a break and link up to it now: http://www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com

If you have learned what gives you the greatest happiness, check it out and indulge!
Of course plan for the future, but live in the present. When one worries, he is generally overly concerned about the future.

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church, had this to say of leading a model life:  “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can.”

It is my continuing prayer that I will always see life as enjoyable, and I know I will more easily attain my goal by applying what is noted above.
